Interpreting is divided into two main groups, namely consecutive interpreting and simultaneous interpreting.
Consecutive interpreting is the type of interpreting during which the interpreter narrates the speech of the speaker after waiting for the same to pause, or by interrupting if and when so required, and which is performed without making use of any technical equipment but by enabling the interpreter to take some notes. Consecutive interpreting is a translation service which is generally employed during the press conferences, hearings, business meetings and trainings.
On the other hand, the interpreting service, which is performed by making use of some technical equipment and whereby the interpreter simultaneously narrates the speech of the speaker to the target audience, is called as simultaneous interpreting. This service is also called as conference interpreting. During performance of simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter will narrate the speech of the speaker simultaneously to the target audience. Performance of such service will require use of some technical equipment including audio systems, booths and such other related elements.
